FABRIC & SUPPLIERS
Since the inception of our company, we’ve been committed to the use of environmentally-friendly fabrics for our products. It doesn’t make sense to make a reusable bag, designed to protect the environment, with a material that isn’t eco-friendly.
When we say ‘Eco-Textiles’, we mean a material that is better for the environment than a conventional textile. For example, Bag the Habit's signature fabric is made with 100% recycled content, including plastic bottles and manufacturing scraps. In addition to reducing resource consumption (the fabrics used by many of our competitors are derived from petroleum), the production of this material also means less water consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and landfill waste.
We believe in the power of cross-cultural partnerships to connect the planet, and build bridges where before there were gaps. Since day one we have sourced materials and services from around the world, from Los Angeles to Guatemala to Shanghai. Currently about half of our sourcing is done domestically in the USA, and the rest abroad. We work closely with suppliers and get to know each of them on a personal level.
